Obituary of Nadia Zeiser

Nadia Zeiser of Calgary, formerly of Camrose, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Nadia Zeiser was born on August 1, 1926 in Zupparosa Ukraine. She was married to Anton on October 10, 1942 and had their first born, Anne, in April of 1944. Throughout these hard times Nadia was with child two more times, but due to complications lost a son and another daughter. In 1951 Anton, Nadia and Anne immigrated to Canada to start a new life. Times were tough with no money nor being able even to speak the language. But they somehow managed. In 1953, their eldest son Tom came along, and then in 1957 Dave, in 1963 John and then finally Rick in 1967. So needless to say Nadia had her hands full. She not only had the kids to raise, but she had a farm to look after while Anton was trying to earn a living working as a butcher. She spent most of her life trying to please others, always putting her own needs behind her. As we all know, she thought the best way to someone's heart was through their stomach. If there are angels out there she will be one. She is survived by her five children, daughter Anne (Cliff) Patton, sons Tom, Dave (Linda), John (Veronica), and Rick (Barb); also eleven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her three brothers and one sister; her husband Anton; two children Peter and Eria; one grandchild Celina; and a sister-in-law Agnes. ~~~ God Bless You, you will always be missed. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from St. Francis Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Pederson as celebrant. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
