Please share a memory of Lori to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Lorie Spence-Larson of Camrose passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the age of 54 years. Lori Spence-Larson was born in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, on April 12, 1960. She was the youngest of four children, and is survived by her two brothers, Randy and Barry Spence, and predeceased by her sister Kathleen Lilley, and parents, Irene and Walter Spence. As a teenager Lori moved to Winnipeg where she met David Rhodes, with whom she had a son: Jess Spence. She and Jess moved to Edmonton in 1983 where she enrolled in school and there met and fell in love with Sheldon Larson. They married in 1988 and had two daughters, Azhia and Ally Larson. In 1993 the family moved to Vancouver Island, and then to Camrose four years later. Here she raised her children and enjoyed many years working at the Royal Canadian Legion. In recent years more joy and love were added to her life when daughter-in-law Katie and two grandsons, Malik and Loki Spence, were welcomed into the family. Lori's greatest passions were the people she loved and the beautiful world she lived in. She was an avid nature-lover who never passed up the opportunity to travel and experience new things; she was well-read and had an abiding interest in world events and culture; and she was devoted to her family. We are immeasurably blessed for the time we've had together. Kind, wise, and generous of spirit, she will be greatly missed and always remembered. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Sheldon, her three children, Jess(Katie) Spence of Camrose, Azhia Larson of Camrose, Ally Larson of Camrose, and her two grandchildren, Malik and Loki. Lori is also survived by her two brothers, Randy Spence of Halifax, Barry (Shirley) Spence of Edmonton, and her in laws, Ron and Kay Larson of Vernon. Lori was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Irene Spence and her sister Kathleen. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Novemeber 01, 2014 at 11:00am from The Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Harder officiating. Cremation has taken place. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of your choice.
