Gardner "Gary" Douglas Horton of Ardrossan passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at the age of 70 years.
Gary was born in Edmonton August 22, 1944, and grew up in Ardrossan. He went to school in Ardrossan and has remained a resident all of his life.
Throughout his life, his love of farming and farm machinery never ceased.
He was a licensed auto mechanic and operated his own automotive repair business and eventually ventured into sales of trucks, cars and auto parts.
Gary retired in 2006 and pursued his tractor collecting hobby in a big way.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Terri; children Ross (Deb) of Ardrossan, and Ian (Shawna) of Ardrossan; four grandchildren Ryder, Leah, Paige, and Dayton; brother Brian (Elaine) of Ardrossan; nephew Cory; niece Laurie and her children Reid and Brynn.
Gary was predeceased by his parents Doug and Iona.
A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2014 from the Ardrossan Recreation Complex with Rev. Don Watt officiating. Interment has taken place in Agricola Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S., or to the Stollery Children's Hospital.
