Eileen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on May 20, 2011 in the Daysland Hospital, surrounded by her family at the age of 73 years. Eileen was born on January 10, 1938 in Daysland, AB to George and Theresa (Wolbeck) Zimmer. She was the third born child of ten. With being the oldest daughter she took on many responsibilities to help care for her siblings while their mother was ill. Eileen worked at the Daysland Hospital for 18 years. She enjoyed many hobbies like quilting, cross stitching, baking, gardening and canning. Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ross of 47 years, her three sons, two daughters and 11 grandchildren, Wayne (Jane), Brandon (Sarah), Aaron (Tegan) and Ally; Doug (Mary Jane), Janessa and Jillian; Linda (Richard), Landon, Kelsey, Brooklyn and Kaybree Mazure; David; Brenda (Glenn), Austin and Jared Tarkowski. She also leaves to mourn her seven brothers and two sisters Donald (Nellie), Ken (Betty), Lorne (Janet), Jackie (Carol), Gordie (Donna), Garry (Marvis), Bobby (Pat), Sharon (Terry) Adams and Theresa (Allan) McTavish; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Eileen was predeceased by her father and mother, George & Theresa and two grandsons, Dylan and Jaydon Tarkowski. Eileen's passion was her children and grandchildren. Along with Ross, they supported their grandchildren in whatever they did from the many far away hockey games, ball games, dance recitals, volleyball, basketball, and all other events they did. A prayer vigil was held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. from Our Lady of the Prairies Roman Catholic Church Daysland. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from Our Lady of The Prairies Roman Catholic Church Daysland with Rev. Leon Kler as celebrant. Interment followed in the Daysland Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accpeted to the charity of one's choice.
