Lillian Wilhelmina Krause of Camrose, formerly of Bittern Lake, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the age of 82 years. Lillian was born October 10, 1931 to Gottfried & Hulda Arndt at the family farm in Willmar, Saskatchewan, second youngest of seven children. She came to Wetaskiwin to work for two summers at which time she met Earl Krause of the Old Sifton District. They were married July 11, 1952 at the Wordsworth Lutheran Church with the reception at the Arndt family farm at Wordsworth. They moved to Bittern Lake then in 1960 outside the village to build a new home, farm and livestock business. They were blessed with four children, four grandsons, five great-grandchildren. Being a wife, and mother was a full time job which she enjoyed and did very well. Always being there for everyone when needed. The sudden passing of her husband in 1981 was very hard on everyone but she kept us going. She moved to Camrose in 1995 but still came out to the farm on weekends or when needed. She enjoyed times and outings with her friends and sisters-in-law. Joining the Bittern Lake then the Camrose floor curling club kept her busy and happy. She was the mom/gramma most can only wish for. She was the center of her family (the one to go to). Her family always came first. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and touched her life. Lillian often talked about her close family ties in Saskatchewan. The hard times, the good times with a lot of love in the family. They are still very close. Lillian leaves to mourn her passing her children Melvin Krause of Ponoka, Lenore Krause of Bittern Lake, Albert (Sara) Krause of Bittern Lake, and Kelvin Krause of Bittern Lake; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Ewaldt (Phyllis) Arndt of Arcola, Saskatchewan, and August Arndt of Regina, Saskatchewan; and sisters Lydia Jesse of Mission, B.C., Manetta (Ron) Rothwell of Regina, Saskatchewan, and Elsie Tafelmeyer of Regina, Saskatchewan. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Earl; an infant child; an infant grandson; and one brother Karl. A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Harder officiating. Interment has taken place in the Bittern Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Stollery Children's Hospital.
