Obituary of Tillie Munro

Please share a memory of Tillie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tillie was born to William and Maria Faryna on September 9, 1923 in Radwance, Ukraine. Her father came to Canada in 1925 and later brought the rest of the family over in 1926. Her childhood days were spent with her parents and two siblings, Molly and Jack, growing up on a farm north of Daysland and to this day, she still owned her home quarter her father had purchased when he first arrived in Canada. She lived in that farmhouse until she moved into Providence Place, but still enjoyed visits out to the farm whenever someone would take her. After high school she got a job working in the Daysland Hospital. On November 12, 1947, she married George Munro and they continued to live on Tillie's family farm. She was a housewife and worked right alongside George, helping with all the many chores of running a farm. After a couple years they were blessed with a daughter Janet; three years later another daughter, Margaret, and then a year later a son, Robert, who sadly passed away at 3 days old. Tillie passed away in the morning of May 25, 2011 and was 87 years old at her passing. Tillie is survived by her son-in-law, James Sprague; grandchildren Tracy & Brandon Depperschmidt, Robert & Bernice Sprague, Michael & Kathleen Sprague, Darryl Sprague and 2 great-grandsons, Ephraim and Silas Sprague; her daughter Margaret and Carter Calliou, granddaughter Jennifer, and great-granddaughter Katie. She was predeceased by her husband George in 2003, her parents William and Maria; her sister Molly, her brother Jack, her daughter Janet and infant son Robert. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Interment followed in the Daysland Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Daysland Cemetery Fund or the Alzheimer Society.
