Faye Whitecotton of Camrose passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the age of 67 years. Faye was born on September 4, 1946 in Camrose. Faye was united in marriage to Murray Whitecotton on August 18, 1967. To this union two sons were born Wayne and Keith. She was raised at Meeting Creek on the farm. She completed Grade 11 then went on to Augustana to complete Grade 12. She then worked at St. Mary's Hospital as a receptionist and accounting for three years. Then off to get married at Edberg Lutheran Church. The next move was to Rosalind for eight years. She loved the small town atmosphere, had many good times and many good friends. Then the big, big, move came to Camrose, oh wow the big city, what would she ever do in Camrose? Well, stayed home with the boys and babysat. When the boys started school, it was time to do something. About this time The Bay was opening and she was lucky enough to be hired first as a sales clerk then eventually in the customer service office. This employment lasted 22 years which she enjoyed everyday. She couldn't sit at home so found employment at Pioneer Machine & Crane Co. for six years. One morning she woke up and decided it was time to retire. Faye loved the outdoors and spent many weekends camping. She also enjoyed golf, curling and bowling. Faye sends special thanks to her family, and special friends for their love and care. She will be missed by her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Wayne Whitecotton of Camrose and Keith (Kim) Whitecotton of Edmonton; one granddaughter Pyper Whitecotton of Spruce Grove; two brothers Dale (Susie) Odegard of Camrose, and Lloyd (Pat)Odegard of Camrose. Faye was predeceased by her husband Murray; parents Hjalmer and Connie. A private graveside service was held at the Camrose Valleyview Cemetery with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Camp Everest - Neurosurgery Kids Fund c/o The Stollery Children's Hospital or the charity of one's choice.
