Please share a memory of Julia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Julia was born on October 4th, 1925, in Bergsjo, Sweden. She passed away May 18th , 2011, in Red Deer, Alberta. Julia immigrated from Sweden with parents, Anders & Christina Larson, and her eldest brother Lars, in 1926. She had three more siblings born in Canada, Agnes, Norman, & Norma. Through the years her passion was cooking, which she made her career. Julia used her skills, when she had boarders in her own home, cooked in lumber camps, owned a cafe, worked in the Alberta Dept. of Highways and lastly, worked in the Camrose Children's Center. She always loved to entertain people in her own home, no matter what the circumstances, there was always a scrumptious meal on the table... no one ever went hungry. Gardening, embroidery and cross stitch, gave Julia many hours enjoyment. However, family visits made her extremely happy. Her memory will be cherished by her remaining family which include, three children; Linda (Bill) House, Chilliwack, BC, Janet (Dallas) Berdahl, Benalto, AB, Deb (Boyd) Wilson, Fort St. John, BC. ; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Joann), Derek, Gavin (Christina), Kent, Harry (Bea), Jodi and Keri (Clinton) and six great grandchildren, Meghan, Austin, Evan, Aage, Haley & Mitchel, as well as several nieces and nephews. Julia was predeceased by her parents, brothers; Norman & Lars; sisters; Agnes & Norma and her husbands Walter Seefried and Stanley Naslund. Julia's (Mom's) passing has left a void in the hearts of many people. It is the hope of the family that her memories will help fill that void. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jacques Vaillancourt officiating. Inurnment took place in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
