Obituary of Enid Moe

Please share a memory of Enid to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Enid Marion Moe passed away on May 12, 2014 at the age of 81 years, in St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Enid was predeceased by her husband Norman in 1991; her brother Leonard; her daughter-in-law Tracy; and her parents August and Christena Martin. She is survived by her sisters Ella Bailey and Shirley (Ed) Wick; her children Sherine, Leanne, and Darren (Eva); her eight grandchildren Kari (Matt), Danika (Dusty), Kjell, Randi, Jarrett, Danielle, Jasper and Logun; her two great-grandchildren, Parker and Landon Norman; as well as many very special relatives and friends. The youngest of four children, Enid was born to August and Christena Martin in Daysland, Alberta. Her early years were on a farm in the Bawlf area, later moving to the Bethany area near Donalda. Enid received her education at Meeting Creek School, Camrose Lutheran College (where she met her future husband), and Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute. Enid married her best friend, Norman, in 1954 and lived on the farm at Armena, where they raised their three children - Sherine, Leanne, and Darren. Enid, Norman, and the family were active participants in the Armena and Scandia Lutheran Church community. Enid's ongoing priorities were her family, church and friends. She found joy in music, while singing with the Scandia women's trio for many years, as well as singing at the weddings of many close friends and family. Once the children were grown, Enid attended NAIT in Edmonton, Alberta to take classes in graphic design. She then worked alongside her beloved CLC family as the manager of the campus bookstore. Enid later retired to care for Norman as his health began to fail. Enid lived her life with love, patience, joy and determination; always keeping her family and God as her main priorities. Known to many as 'Nana', she enjoyed keeping up with the grandkids - sports, recitals, competitions - and sharing with them, her favorite family traditions and stories. She always looked forward to her lunch and coffee dates with her faithful and loving friends, as well as visits from her cherished family. So many were truly blessed by Enid's presence in their lives. She will live on in our hearts forever. A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2014 from Scandia Lutheran Church in Armena with Rev. Prema Samuel officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Scandia Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Scandia Lutheran Church or to the charity of one's choice.
