Obituary of Ruth Buchart

Ruth Buchart passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Marys Hospital at the age of 83 years. She was born on the family farm in what is now Saskatchewan on June 27, 1930 to George Powell Eckardt and Dorothea Mildred Eckardt.
Ruth was blessed with seven children. She dedicated her life to raising not only her children, but many grandchildren and foster children too.
Ruth enjoyed garage sales, reading, and family. Her passion was helping others and spending time with family and friends.
May her spirit live on in the memory of her children - Jean, Herby, Linda, Sam, Rhoda, Kathy, George, and the many others she raised as her own.
Ruth will be fondly remembered by all the lives she has touched.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Georgina Meister (Don Auvigne) of Ponoka, Herb Meister of Lacombe, Linda (Bob) McKay of Lacombe, Rhonda Starko of Vegreville, Katherine (Vondell) Drake of Camrose, George (Lisa) Buchart of Lacombe; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and foster children.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Emil; and son Samuel.
A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014 from Solid Rock Lutheran Church (4501 52A Ave) with Rev. Collin Hauch officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation.
