Obituary of Joseph Hepp

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph James Hepp of Red Deer, formerly of Bawlf, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Joseph James Hepp was born in Castor Alberta July 15th 1928. Finishing high school at the age of 17 he applied to be an R.C.M.P. officer. Because of his age he would have to wait one more year, they offered him a position of clerical work untill he was of age. He turned it down and took a job in the coal mines. From there he took up farming in the Heisler area. Later he bought a service station at Bawlf, Alberta where he had a tow truck and auto wreckers. Joseph was a hard working faithful steadfast man and all who knew him would testify to that. He married the love of his life, Irene, and in his heart adopted her nine children. His life was full and busy. If you knew Joseph you would know his passions and his hobbies. For many years he played Pool and the shop will give evidence to the many trophies sitting on the shelves. Hockey games were watched regularly and of course the Oilers were his team. Lets not forget the curling or the crib tournaments. He was a true Cowboy and he had a love for horses. He was a prankster and we are sure that each one of us that knew him has a story to share of his many pranks. In faith and truth Joseph has gone to be with the Lord. Left to cherish his memory are his children Mark of Camrose, Darlene of Red Deer, Katherain of St. Albert, Wanda of Penhold, Daren of Penhold, Laurie of Coquitlam, B.C And Garth of Longview; nephews Lloyd, Verdon, Glen, Ken; nieces Kathy and Brenda; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Joseph is also survived by his many close friends. Joseph was predeceased by his father Peter Hepp; mother Theresea Hepp; sister Pauline Bohme; brother Harold Hepp; his wife Irene Hepp; and his sons James and Michael. Your prayers, comfort and support are greatly appreciated and gratefully acknowledged. A Memorial Service was held 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel.
