Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" Lofgren

Betty Lofgren (nee Steinbach) was born November 13, 1958 in Hanna, Alberta. She passed away on April 22, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 55 years. In 1963 her family moved to Kelsey where she spent the next 18 years. She attended Bawlf school. When she finished school Betty moved to Camrose to waitress at the Alice Hotel restaurant, after a few years she started a new job at Doughboy's restaurant. This was where she met Doug and on August 8, 1999 they were married. In 1999 her mom Kathy passed away of a sudden heart attack. In 2008 her Dad Pete passed away of cancer, in 2010 she lost her oldest sister Shirley Harty to cancer, and in 2013 she lost her mother-in-law Rose Lofgren... all who she loved so dearly. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Doug Lofgren, brother-in-law Padget Lofgren of Edmonton and father-in-law Freeman Lofgren of Camrose. Also left to mourn is her sister Maryann (Randy) Sroka of Camrose, two nieces Carlee Sroka and fiance (Clayton Beniuk) of Grande Prairie and Amanda McKenna of New Brunswick; two nephews Cody Sroka (Amanda Hill) of Edmonton and Justin (Natasha) Harty of Bawlf. You will forever be in our hearts, and you will forever be loved. Thank you all for coming out today to help us celebrate her life. A Funeral Service was held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Harder officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Cross Cancer Institute, or to St. Mary's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
