Helen Marie Martz

(September 30, 1928 - November 2, 2023)

Helen Marie Martz of Camrose, Alberta, formerly of Strome, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the age of 95 years.

Helen was born September 30, 1928 at home on the farm, near the small town of Strome, AB. She had three brothers and three sisters. 
 

Helen cooked for the Farm Thrashers in her younger years, as well as berry picking in B.C., until she met Ralph and married on October 26, 1948. She then took care of all the household chores and looked after five children. 
 

Helen loved to sew, so many of her children’s clothes were handmade. She belonged to the CWL and sewed banners for the church. 
 

Travel was a highlight for Helen and Ralph as well as they both loved camping with family and friends. Helen’s favorite was sitting by the campfire and listening to country music. She also loved to do word find books in her spare time. 
 

Helen will be greatly missed by her five children Joanne (Frank), Sharyl (Don), Colin, Sandra (Garth), and Gary (Lisa); eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous relatives and friends.  
 

She was predeceased by her husband Ralph; brothers Harry and Leonard; and sisters Valeria, Maryanna and Alma.

A private service was held.
