Levi Ronald John Koop

(August 17, 1988 - August 25, 2023)

Levi Ronald John Koop, 35, of Sherwood Park, AB passed away on August 25th, 2023 in his family home.

Levi was born in Calgary, AB, on August 17th, 1988, to Dawn Marie Severson, who later married James Grue. 

Levi was very athletic as a child. Before getting injured at the age of 16, he could be found doing gymnastics around the yard and on any trampoline he could be on. Levi loved science and his favourite animal was a snake.
As Levi got older, he started his first job at A&W. From there, he went on to be a swamper at Ken Polege. As Levi’s mother Dawn’s health declined, Levi took up the role as her main caregiver until she passed in 2017. In more recent years, he worked as a painter while he lived in Calgary.

In his adulthood, Levi grew to love all music, including playing his bass guitar, video games and his beloved dogs Weenus and Amber. Levi was the very proud uncle of four nephews and two nieces who he loved more than anything. 

Levi is survived by father James Grue; step-mother Christine Adam; sister Stephanie Koop; brother and sister-in-law Brenden and Kaitlyn Grue; nephews Mitchel Bellmore, Sterling Bellmore, Emmett Grue, and Theodore Grue; nieces Sophia Rupp and Aria Grue; and his dog Amber

He is predeceased by mother Dawn Grue; uncle Todd Severson; paternal grandparents Ruth and Evert Grue; maternal grandparents Betty and Ronald Severson; and his dog Weenus.
 

A Funeral Service was held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023 from Scandia Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Calvin Skriver.
