Harbhajan Singh

(September 15, 1933 - August 15, 2023)

Harbhajan Singh of Camrose, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the age of 89 years.

We bid farewell to a noble soul, Mr. Harbhajan Singh (89) of Belgaum, Karnataka, India, who lost his 6 months battle with a stroke and breathed his last on August 15, 2023. In the final days, he was surrounded by his daughters and grand-daughter. He peacefully passed with the loving memories of his cherished family.

Harbhajan is survived by his daughters Manpreet Bansal,

Parampreet Sainbhee, and Tarveen Kaur; and grandchildren Karishma Sainbhee, Arpita Bansal, Raunaq Bansal, and Anahat Anmol.

He was predeceased by his father Balwant Singh; his mother Harnam Kaur; siblings; his wife Jagdish Kaur Dhindsa; children Sarabjeet Kaur, and Satvir Singh; and his grand daughter Hershita Sainbhee.

As the youngest among five siblings, Harbhajan's early years were deeply ingrained with family values. These values were the cornerstones of his successful 56-year marriage to his beloved late wife, Mrs. Jagdish Kaur Dhindsa. Together, they lovingly raised five children, Sarabjeet Kaur, Satvir Singh, Manpreet, Parampreet, and Tarveen, embedding in them the principles of respect, empowerment, and unwavering faith. Professionally, Mr. Singh's tenacity and dedication were unmatched. His exemplary service in the agricultural domain saw him ascend to the esteemed position of Joint Director of Agriculture in Jabalpur, India. His contributions to the sector were profound, and his wisdom and expertise will be remembered by all who had the honour of working alongside him.

But for those who knew Harbhajan closely, his professional achievements, as noteworthy as they were, paled in comparison to his character. A devout Sikh, his life exemplified the virtues of compassion, benevolence, and unyielding faith. To his children and countless others, he was more than just a figure of guidance. He was a beacon, shining light onto paths less traveled, always encouraging them to lead with kindness, humility, and a deep sense of purpose.

As we mourn the loss, we celebrate the legacy of Harbhajan Singh. His footprints, though no longer amongst us, remain deep and indelible, marking the hearts and minds of every life he touched.

The world has truly lost an irreplaceable gem, but his spirit and teachings will continue to inspire generations.

The family would like to thank the staff of Camrose Home Care and Dr. Ansar Pasha for all their care and help with our Dad.

Rest in peace, dear Harbhajan Singh. Your journey on this earth was a testament to a life well lived.

A private family service has taken place.
