Obituary of Theodore "Ted" Kozak

Theodore "Ted" Laurence Kozak of Daysland, formerly of Kingman, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the age of 75 years. Theodore Laurence Kozak was born February 3rd, 1939 at Drumheller, Alberta. His youngest years were spent living in the winter at Newcastle (near Drumheller) and on the farm at Kingman (in the spring to fall). He received all his schooling in the village of Kingman. Ted resided on the Kingman farm and farmed with his father. He also worked in residential construction in Camrose at Jubilee Construction with Uncle Louie and Otto Gauss. His other jobs were with Uncle Bill at his Calgary service station, Seismograph surveying up North, Canada Parks in Southern Alberta , The Camrose Steel Plant, and an Anhydrous plant East of Camrose. Ted lived on the farm at Kingman until 2011, when he purchased an acreage near Daysland so he could be with Mary-Anne Seafoot. Ted's greatest love was hunting and fishing. Guns were his main passion. He could tell you anything you wanted to know about any gun available. Ted's last home was Viking Extended Care Facility where he passed away peacefully, Sunday morning March 16th, to begin the next leg of his journey. Ted was predeceased by his parents, Annie and Ludwig Kozak. He will be sadly missed by his sister Yvonne (Al) Krezanoski; nephew, Jeff; nieces, Kristie and Lyndsey; great nephew, Mingus; and numerous relatives and good friends. A Celebration of Life was held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Kingman Community Hall. Memorial Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 100-119 14 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 1Z6
