Royale "Roy" Edward Lindridge of Camrose passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the age of 78 years. Royale "Roy" Edward Lindridge was born October 7th 1935, in Kent, England. He served in the RAF. In 1973 Roy emigrated to Canada with his second wife Rosemary and two children, eventually settling in Saskatoon. Roy was a master carpenter who enjoyed working with kids and volunteered with Junior achievements, helping teens acquire different skills with wood working. He loved to travel and lived in many places throughout the years, from Saskatchewan to BC. Roy had a wonderful sense of humor and made friends wherever he went. Roy was a member of the Core of commissionaires in Calgary. He moved from Calgary to Camrose where he worked for a few construction companies then settled at the Norseman Inn until his retirement. He also belonged to the Camrose railway club. In his final years he enjoyed spending time with his family, and supervising his son-in-law while building his garden railway. Roy spent the last few years battling with Parkinson's. He fought a good battle and showed the rest of us his courage in dealing with it. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his children Gary (Bridget), Rebecca (Gilbert); grandchildren John, Aiden, Spencer, Haley, Emily, Matthew, London, Lucy, and Katherine; two great-grandchildren Emily and Mason; Roy's mother Rebecca (101 years old); and his four brothers and three sisters. Roy was predeceased by his father Frederick; first wife Christine; and two sisters Rosemary and Jacqueline. A Funeral Service was held Saturday, March 22, 2014 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Edwards officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. If family and friends desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Parkinson Alberta, or to the Camrose Boys and Girls Club.
