Obituary of Eleanor Nesvold

Please share a memory of Eleanor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Eleanor Evelyn Nesvold of Camrose passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Eleanor was born in Edmonton, AB to Arthur and Hildegard Burgess on Sept. 23, 1921. During Eleanor's early years she attended several different schools as her family moved often. After graduating from Camrose High School she worked at the Camrose 5¢ to $1 Store. It was here she met the love of her life Earl Milton Nesvold. They were married on Aug. 1, 1945. They built a new house on the farm where Eleanor was happy to finally settle down and have roots. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Eleanor loved life on the farm and the many neighbours and friends who shared in it. She enjoyed being a member of Messiah's LCW and YCF groups. As the family began to grow up she decided to expand her life and worked in Camrose at Lawrence's Dept. Store, Darcy's Jewellers and Lou's Fashions. She loved working in fashions and especially enjoyed the people she worked with and the many clients she served over the years. Eleanor also loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to Hawaii and other U.S. states and to Australia. As retirement approached they built a new house in Camrose where they lived and continued to enjoy life and travel. Earl passed away on July 18, 2010 and Eleanor missed him tremendously. She recently entered St. Mary's Hospital where she passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 19, 2011. Left to cherish her memory are her children Linda (Guenther) Selmikeit of Edmonton, Wendy (Rod) Nelson of Kelsey, Jerry (Twila) Nesvold of Camrose, Dale (Joni) Nesvold of Camrose, thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Earl, her parents, and her brother Robert Burgess. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Judy Jarvis officiating. Interment followed in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Camrose Association For Community Living.
