Obituary of Murrey Huseby

Please share a memory of Murrey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Murrey Allan Huseby, of Daysland, Alberta, formerly of Holden, succumbed to Lung Cancer February 2, 2014 at the age of 55 years. Murrey is survived by his Daughter Deanne (Michael) Cook, Son Tanner Huseby, two Grandchildren Kaydin and Owen Cook, Sister's Brenda (Don) Knight and June Yarham, Brother Dale (Myra) Huseby, along with numerous Nieces and Nephews. Murrey was pre-deceased by his Parents Evelyn and Henry Huseby, and Sister's Norma Murdoch and Florence Giebelhaus. Murrey was born in Daysland June 22, 1958. He lived south of Holden, Alberta as a small child moving to Daysland with his Mom at a young age. He called Daysland his home his entire life. Murrey was a self-employed truck driver for most of his life. He was a very loving Dad, Grandfather and a great friend to many. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things both inside and outside his shop. Murrey was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. One of his extra ordinary talents was that he was an amazing listener and never criticized. If you couldn't find him at home you'd better check the highways because he was, as he would say, a "Motorcycle Enthusiast " and probably out for a tour on his Harley. Murrey was diagnosed with AML Leukemia March 2009 that resulted in a stem cell transplant. After a courageous and hard fought battle, he was able to return home January 11, 2010 where he tried to return to normal life as much as possible. Unfortunately, cancer once again found Murrey in November 2013. We all knew Murrey as a strong willed character who never approached anything with less than 100%, and it was with this attitude he fought back. As strong as he was, he lost his fight. He is no longer in pain and is resting peacefully - riding his Harley in the sky whenever he so chooses. A celebration of life will take place 1:00 p.m - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2014 from the Gladstone Hall (Hwy 26 and Range Road 171). In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Tom Baker Cancer Center, or to the Daysland Hospital Foundation.
