Ian Howard Lemmex of Camrose passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Dad was born on March 7, 1928 in Hazenmore, Saskatchewan to Ernest and Jeannie Lemmex. He lived there until he moved to Red Deer to work at the Provincial Training School - now known as Mitchner Centre. It was there that he met Mom, Helen. They were married on September 11, 1950 in Wetaskiwin. They lived in Red Deer, Meeting Creek, and Edmonton where their first daughter, Cheryl, was born. They moved to Wetaskiwin and Bradley, Debra, and Gregory were born there. Dad was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Jeannie; his step-dad Mac Kilgour; and his wife of 50 years Helen. He is survived by his children Cheryl (Larry) Lohr, Bradley, Debra, and Greg; grandchildren Rob (Yvonne), Dianne (Michael) Enyedy, and Caressa and Jake Nyback; great-grandchildren Brandon, Daniel and Rachel, Jennifer (Alex), Jason (Felicia), Michelle, and Cody; and great-great-grandchildren Benjamin, Macayla, Mason, Madison, and Kaiden. Dad loved life. He loved a good game of Crib, he loved to fish, and in his younger years he played ball, floor hockey, bowled, and anything that brought friends together to have fun, he was a good sport! Funeral Services were held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bonnie Arends officiating. Cremation has taken place. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
