Jacqueline Terri Virtue

(December 26, 1950 - July 20, 2021)

Jacqueline “Jackie” Terri Virtue returned home on July 20th, 2021 at age 70. A woman known for her bright smile and even brighter spirit, Jackie Stewart was born in Merritt, BC. to her parents, Oliver and Alice “Tilly” Stewart on December 26th, 1950. As a child, she was often found in close proximity of her younger siblings Russ, George, Arley, Manny, Kenny, Ira, and her sister Sadie.
After what could only be described as a hard life, Jackie had her first child, Steve Osiowy, in the winter of 1971. Followed shortly thereafter by her second and third sons, Aaron and Mitchell Osiowy, in ‘73 and ‘76.
It was shortly thereafter that she chose the life of recovery in 1977 and after a few more short years, met Gerry Virtue.

In 1982 Gerry locked eyes with a young, brown-eyed Jackie Stewart for the first time and never quite forgot about them. He recalls a “Hello, Gerry.”, and those eyes; the rest is history. The two were married on March 1st, 1983 in an intimate ceremony and Jackie Stewart became not only a stepmother to 3 amazing boys; Wayne, Tim, and Terry Virtue, but also became a Virtue, herself; Jacqueline Virtue.
It was a beautiful, adventurous marriage. One with many twists and turns, highs and lows, and so much genuine love. A marriage that makes one wonder how two people could be so happy, fortunate and so in-love, yet still always be working towards making it a little bit better.

Jackie and Gerry spent a few years moving from place to place until another blessing was granted to them in the form of a daughter, their first and only daughter, Gerri Virtue. To say Jackie was overjoyed at finally having a beautiful baby girl to dress-up was an understatement. Just as life couldn’t seem to get any better, Jackie and Gerry chose to move into a beautiful home in the Mennonite community of Crooked Creek, Ab. It would be here that they would make some very close friendships, plant deep roots, and grow together as a family.  Finally in 2013, they made their forever move to Camrose, Ab. She worked many years and touched many hearts at the Seasons Retirement Community. Her infectious smile, compassionate heart, and genuine love of God/life/family/friends was unmatched.

She lives on in her 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and her loving husband. She will be forever admired, loved and remembered.

The family held a funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 25, 2021, at the Solid Rock Luthern Church, 4501 52 Ave Camrose officiated by the Rev. Collin Hauch.

If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Jackie's memory may be made to the Camrose Women's Shelter.
