Obituary of George Edward Zang

George Edward Zang

(July 25, 1947 - June 21, 2021)

George Edward Zang passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021, at Seasons retirement home, at the age of 73 years.

George was born on July 25, 1947, to Alice and Charles Zang. George and his twin Georgina were the youngest of three children. George's parents later parted ways and his mother met Tony Hopaluk who became George's stepfather. The family soon increased with the addition of two boys. George was raised on the farm in Wainwright with his mother, stepfather, and two half-brothers.

As a young adult George met Bonnie Poulton. They moved to Camrose, Alberta and were married in 1988. With this union, George became a proud stepfather to Bonnie's daughter Theresa and then eventually a proud grandfather to Theresa's four children.  

Left to cherish George's memory are his two half-brothers Frank (Debbie) Hopaluk, and Anton Hopaluk; stepdaughter Theresa Handley; four grandchildren; three nieces, one nephew, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. 

George was predeceased by his mother Alice Hopaluk; father Charles (Bud) Zang; stepfather Tony Hopaluk; brother William Zang; and his sister Georgina Zang.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Camrose Cemetery.
