Anne Burnadette Willisko

( November 25, 1923- March 30, 2021)

Anne Burnadette Willisko (Winczura) of Camrose, formerly of Hay Lakes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the age of 97 years.

Anne was the first daughter born to Woijech and Victoria Winczura on the family farm in the Round Hill district and attended Kalawy School.
On her 21st birthday on November 25, 1944 she married Nick Willisko from the Hay Lakes district. Anne was a devoted wife and mother and worked hard on the farm. Coffee was always on. She was a tremendous cook – we will miss her cabbage rolls and perogies. She always planted a large garden to supply family and friends with fresh veggies. Her love of flowers grew all over on the farm.

Anne had a passion for many things in life including family and friends, travelling, floor curling, playing cards, and bingo.

In 2012 due to health concerns, she moved into Rosealta Lodge in Camrose where our little social butterfly made many new friends amongst residents and staff. After seven years at the lodge, she moved to Bethany Meadows Oak Cottage where again our little butterfly made many friends amongst the caring staff.

Anne was a beautiful selfless free-spirited soul and brought joy to everyone who connected with her. We will all miss her beautiful smile.

Anne is survived by her son Ken (Jane); daughter Carol (Don) Simms; grandchildren Chad Willisko, Robyn (Matt) Kirkpatrick, Ryan Simms (Jen Monchak), and Brandi (Brandon) Fjeld; great-grandchildren Brynn and Sydney Kirkpatrick, and Theodore Simms; as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Anne was predeceased by her husband Nick; parents Woijech and Victoria Winczura; and siblings Frank, Albert, Adam, Barney, Ed, Helen Hemingson, and Martha.
