Obituary of Robert "Bob " Cunningham

Robert Thomas Cunningham was born May 3, 1936 to Thomas and Margaret Cunningham in Camrose, Alberta. He was raised on the family farm in the Albury District. He attended school at Albury until it closed, then going to Rosalind until grade 11. He met and then married Alice Nelson on November 7, 1957. They were married 54 years before Alice's passing in 2011. They were blessed with three children David (Sue), Danny (Joan), and Scott (Cheryl). Bob is survived by his sons and their wives; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; sister Peggy (Bob) Sheets; brother-in-law Harold (Betty) Nelson; numerous nieces and nephews. Bob farmed his whole life, operating a mixed farm with his Dad and then David. He loved curling, baseball, and hockey. He also enjoyed taking the kids to ball games, sports days, swimming, etc. After moving to town in 1994 he commuted to the farm daily at first, then seasonal as time went on. Bob enjoyed the last one and a half years at his Brookside condominium where he could look out over the valley from his patio, watch the wildlife, and visit with family and friends. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Camrose United Church (4829 50 Street, Camrose) with Mary Ann Pastuck officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
