Muriel was born February 21, 1937 in Three Hills, Alberta to Charles and Emma Cook. She passed away after a brief illness with lung cancer on November 18, 2013 at the age of 76 years. When Muriel was two years old the family moved from Three Hills to Bowness, Alberta where she grew up and attended school. She worked two jobs, one with Smith Built Hats making the Famous Calgary Stampede Stetsons and her other job was with Alberta Piano. She met and married her beloved husband Vic on January 3, 1959. Together they had three lovely children Melinda, Bradford and Cindy. In 1964 the family moved to Camrose, Alberta where she continued her career as a piano technician. Muriel leaves to mourn her loving husband Vic; daughter Melinda (Doug) Donnelly of Edmonton; son Bradford (Catherine) Redekopp of Beaumont; daughter Cindy (Daryl) Orcutt of Edmonton; her sister Diana (Art) Lamirande of Carseland, Alberta. She will be missed by her four grandchildren Adam (Kathy) Donnelly, Jenna (Ryan) Stone, Kayla Redekopp and Brittany Orcutt. She will be cherished by her three great-grandchildren Keira Donnelly, Jett and Harper Stone. She will be remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Muriel will be missed by her dear friend of 40 years Joan Sears. Muriel was predeceased by her parents Charles and Emma Cook; stepfather Frank Olsen; and brother Leonard Cook. A funeral service was held on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from the Camrose United Church with Rev. Brian Hunter and Mary Ann Pastuck officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to The Juvenille Diabetes Association or St. Mary's Hospital Palliative Care.
