Gloria Marie Green

(July 31, 1957 - June 12, 2019)

Gloria Marie Green, age 61, of Camrose, AB, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. She was born to the late Florence and Arthur Cappis on July 31, 1957.

Loved to the ends of the earth and left to cherish her memory are her son Steven (Stacey) Green of Spruce Grove and daughter Tracy Green (Dan Bouchard) of Camrose. She will be held in the hearts and forever missed by her six grandchildren, Dylan, Ethan, Peytan, Courtney, SydaLea, and Case.

Gloria was one of thirteen brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by five brothers, Leonard, Roger, Kenny and Donny and one sister, Sharon. She is survived by five sisters, Dalphine, Bev, Betty, Glenna and Joyce, as well as two brothers, Barry and Cameron.

A loving mother and grandmother, Gloria was a remarkable baker and cook and absolutely adored preparing baking and dishes for her children and grandchildren. She had an uncanny way of just adding a little of this and touch of that in the most scattered way then serving the most amazing dish that would leave her family begging for more. When asked for her recipe, she would heartily say with a giant smile and the old ‘eye roll’, “oh, I don’t know, I don’t measure.” Gloria was young and full of life, she gave every ounce of her being so unselfishly with humility and kindness and loved her children and grandchildren to no end. They were truly the most important to her, above and beyond anything else. Gloria wanted for nothing but the company and love from her family and friends and was an extremely hard worker. She worked at Safeway in Camrose where she formed friendships and was able to share her hard-work and dedication. After which, she would then enjoy a coffee and visit with her sisters and nieces. She loved a sense of humor to a point that we sometimes didn’t even know what she was laughing at. Her laughter and humor were so infectious, and this was just one of the many qualities about her that the grandchildren especially loved and has been passed on to them. And boy, did they like to tease grandma. Mom, you were taken too soon, truly loved, and will be forever missed but held tight in our hearts. We love you.

A celebration of life was held in her memory on Sunday, July 28, 2019 in a banquet hall in the Camrose Casino.
