Jens Servold of Camrose, Alberta passed away in complete peace on November 9, 2013 in his 85th year. Proudly carrying forward Jens' traditions are his son Sheldon and Brenda Servold; and his daughters Carol and Bill Davis, Laura and Carl Anderson, Sheila and Troy Thompson, and Janet and Curtiss Rinehart; the mother of his children Beverley Servold; fourteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers Clarence (Marj) Servold and Irvin Servold; and many nieces and nephews. Jens was predeceased by his parents Hans Servold and Anna-Marie Servold; and his brother Harold Servold. Jens was born April 23, 1928 in Camrose, Alberta. He began his lifelong love of learning at Camrose Normal School, and graduated from Grade 12 from Camrose Lutheran College where he made many lasting friendships. From 1947-1952 Jens apprenticed as an electrician with Wilson-Umbach. He completed his certification through SAIT. Later in his career, Jens was proud to achieve his Master Electrician certification. Jens "The Great" adored his family, he loved and excelled at Nordic skiing, as well as hockey and boxing. Jens shared his love of the lake and boating by including everyone he could. We all enjoyed experiencing life with you. May you soar through the universe in all it's glory and wonder. A Funeral Service for Jens was held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 1:00p.m. from Messiah Lutheran Church (4810 50 Street, Camrose, AB) with Rev. David Eriksson officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to #644 Royal Canadian Air Cadets-Camrose; or Camrose and District Hospice Society.
