Hazel Alice Walker of Galahad, formerly Heisler, Alberta, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the age of 100 years.

Hazel’s father, Elmer Wolfe was born February 27, 1891 in Burns, Kansas. His family moved to Nebraska in 1901. Elmer met Edith Ann Parson who was born April 9, 1899 and they were married in 1916. From this union nine children were born. Elmer moved his family to High Prairiend then in 1936 they bought a farm and moved to Salt Prairie. While living in Salt Prairie, they met the Walker Family who has arrived from Wisconsin in 1920. Hazel, the second oldest of the Wolfe children, took a liking to John (Jack), the second oldest of the Walker children.  Hazel was nineteen years old in 1938 when they were married. They continued to farm in Salt Prairie for a number of years, where they raised their four sons. In 1996, Hazel and John moved to Heisler to be closer to their family and John passed away shortly after. Hazel continued living in Heisler for twenty more years. Hazel enjoyed bowling and music. The Walker family was always musical even Hazel played the mandolin a bit. She was touched at her 100th birthday celebration when her three sons Ken, Ronald, Bob and their friends provided musical entertainment.
