Please share a memory of Katharina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Kathy Kelly of Camrose, passed away on Friday November 1, 2013 at the age of 96 years. Kathy was born December 13, 1916 at Herbert, Saskatchewan. She was one of nine children. She lost her parents at an early age and lived with relatives until old enough to light out on her own. She learned to care and help where she could and went on to do housekeeping in a hotel. In May of 1943 she married Roy Kelly. They farmed for a few years and then moved to Unity, Saskatchewan where she worked in the dry cleaners and worked as a seamstress. Her talents were many but sewing and baking were ways she blessed family and friends. She raised four children and felt blessed that two were twins and went on to be blessed with twelve grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. The last 32 years of her life were spent in Heritage Manor where she took an active part in all the activities, made countless friends and dedicated herself to helping others. Our mother was a strong woman of faith. Family and friends were very important to her and she was fortunate to have many. Our thanks to those in her Manor who watched over her in her time of need. Left to cherish her memory are her children Ron (Karen), Daryll (Lorraine). Sharyll (Dennis) Yochim, and Brenda (Gary) Fairbairn; and her numerous grandchildren. A Funeral service was held on Wednesday November 6, 2013 at 2:00pm from the Burgar Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully acceted to the charity of one's choice.
