Obituary of Madeline "Granny" McDonald

Madeline Reta McDonald "Granny" was born on October 5, 1930 at home in Kelsey, Alberta to Warren and Hazel Batke. She was raised in the Camrose area, along with her four siblings Allan, Ben, Kay, and Terry. Madeline later met Ken McDonald and they were married on December 27, 1947. They had one child Bonnie Jean; two grandchildren Terri Lynn (Kirk) and Ted (Tanya); four great-grandchildren Sydnie, Parker, Kenneth, and Erin.
Sadly Granny passed away on October 23, 2013 at the Fox Creek Hospital at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her husband Ken; her parents Warren and Hazel Batke; her son-in-law Merv Zadderey; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and one nephew.
Granny had such exceptional care from the Fox Creek Hospital, there are not enough words that can express the gratitude we feel for the endless kindness and support they bestowed on both ourselves and Granny.
A Funeral Service was held 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2013 from Camrose United Church with Rev. Alan Richards officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Friends of Fox Creek Hospital Society (Box 852 Fox Creek, Alberta T0H 1P0).
