Milten was born in Provost, on May 20, 1927. He was the son of George and Edith Halsten. Milten moved to the Ohaton area at a young age, and attended school in this area, close to where he lived. In 1953, Milten joined the Canadian Seed Growers Association, and grew foundation, registered and certified wheat, oats, and barley. Milten put his heart and soul to excel. Milten was honored after 50 years of growing. Milten and Karen were married in 1968, in Edmonton, and then came back to Ohaton to live and farm. To this family, three children were born, Elise, Marlene, and Earl, who were Milten's pride and joy. Milten is survived by his wife Karen, and this three children, Elise, Marlene, and Earl. He was predeceased by his parents, and one brother Gilman. Milten will be sadly missed by his family, relatives, and friends. Visitation was held at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel. A graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Camrose Valleyview Cemetery with Rev. Kenn Ward officiating. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of your choice.
