Obituary of Bodel Shapka

Bodel Shapka of Camrose passed away peacefully on October 17, 2013 at the age of 30 years, while he was surrounded by his loving family. Bodel is survived by his loving wife Chantelle; daughter Rachael; son Nickolas; mother Linda (Mike) Gaumont; sisters Amber (Justin) Pelech, and Orrianna Chimko; as well as many numerous other family and friends. Bodel was predeceased by his father Bobby; Giedo Nick Tatarin; Giedo Nick Shapka; and family friend Willis Euchuk. Bodel was born in Edmonton, Alberta on November 17, 1982 to Linda and Bobby. The family moved to Camrose in 1995 and he met his wife Chantelle in his teenage years while they were both employed at Smitty's. Bodel graduated from CCHS in 2000 and then went on to successfully complete his apprenticeship in welding and went on to be a very proud member of Boilermakers Local #146. Chantelle blessed Bodel with the birth of his daughter Rachael on July 29, 2006 followed by the birth of their son Nickolas on January 31, 2009. Bodel always surrounded himself with numerous friends and family, he will be dearly missed. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Camrose Regional Exhibition (4250 Exhibition Drive, Camrose, AB) with Rev. Greg Faryna officiating. If friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to a trust fund for Rachael and Nickolas Shapka, c/o Royal Bank Camrose.
