Please share a memory of Beatrice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beatrice "Bea" Iola Swanson of Camrose passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the age of 95 years. Bea was born in Viking, and spent her adult years in Camrose. She married Earl Sjerven in 1938, and from this union four children were born; Dale, Coral, Judy, and David. Bea was widowed in 1962, and married Elmer Swanson in 1974 and added two daughters to her family, Elouise and Ardy. Bea was fondly known as the ding dong lady for her 53 years of selling Avon. She was one of the driving forces in founding the Burgess School and was very involved with CAFCL and Centra Cam. Bea spent eight years as an CNA at St. Mary's which brought her in touch with many people, especially new moms who remember her loving care. Left to cherish her memory are her children Dale Sjerven, Coral (Derwent) Eklund, Judy (Mervin) Caskey, and David Sjerven; step-daughter Elouise (Allan) Gordeyko; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Our mother was a vibrant, joyous soul who gave her love to all. Bea was predeceased by her first husband Earl Sjerven; second husband Elmer Swanson; daughter-in-law Judy Sjerven; step-daughter Ardy (Gerald) Trempner; and sister Nellie (Wally) Batsch. A Funeral Service was held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Camrose Association for Community Living, or to Centra Cam.
