Glenn Olson passed away on October 4, 2013 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Camrose Alberta at the age of 83 years. Glenn was born on October 3, 1930 in Camrose to Gustav and Anne Olson. His childhood was spent on a farm in the Bawlf and Ohaton area. Glenn worked primarily as a trucker for the County of Camrose and retired at the age of 65. He was very proud to be a life member of Camrose Branch #57 of the Royal Canadian Legion. In 2012 he was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by M.P. Kevin Sorenson. He enjoyed the Camrose Country Opry, Traveling, Golfing, Camping, Fishing and Family Card Games. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Eileen; one daughter Carmen (Dean) Parry; grandson Kyle; three step-children Patricia, Denise, and Joanne (Tony); four step-grandchildren Tim, Kyla, Derrick, and Krysta; four step-great grandchildren,Tyliah, Breeanna, Daniel and Saraya; and numerous comrades and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Gustav and Anne Olson; son-in-law Richard; and two grandchildren. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S or the Camrose Opry Association. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Mary Ann Pastuck officiating. Inurnment followed in the Camrose Cemetery.
