Morris William Fankhanel was born in Camrose Alberta on February 10, 1958 to parents Rodney and Eloise Fankhanel. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 4, 2013 at Bethany Meadows, in Camrose. Morris and his five siblings grew up on the family farm on Dorenlee Road, where they attended school in Meeting Creek and Edberg. After completing Grade 10, he stayed home to help out on the family farm. Morris worked in various trades in the years to follow, including working on the new Fankhanel home in the early 1980's. He upgraded his Math, and then was able to complete his apprenticeship in welding. In 1988, Morris married Shelly Kerr from Kingman, to this union three children were born. Morris was very avid about life; he enjoyed the company of many friends. When Morris set his mind to something it was done and done passionately. Morris put a large interest into the Fankhanel Family tree, and the map of Alberta. Left to cherish his memory, he leaves behind his wife Shelly; his daughters Natasha and Sherilyn; son Ryan; brothers Leo, Norman (Della), and Gerry (Karen); and sisters Bernice (Doug) Stauffer and Clarice (Olaf) Cordes; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Rodney and Eloise Fankhanel; and niece Ashley. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 1:00pm, from The Camrose Church of God with Rev. Jeff Decelle officiating. Inurnment followed in The Dorenlee Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to The Alberta Cancer Foundation, or to the Dorenlee Cemetery Fund.
