Obituary of Allan Youngberg

Allan Youngberg of Camrose passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the age of 81 years. Allan was born with a twin brother, Austin, on September 12, 1931 at St. Mary's Hospital in Camrose to August and Aleda Youngberg. He lived his entire life in the Bawlf-Camrose area where he was engaged in farming, carpentry and the steel mill. He retired from farming and moved to an apartment in Camrose and later to Sunrise Village. Allan was predeceased by his parents; sisters Doris Rosland and Mildred Matheson of Camrose; and brother Harley (Rhonda and Blain) of Vermilion. He is also predeceased by his uncle Johnnie. Allan is survived by his brother Austin (Norma) of Kelowna; Laura Youngberg (Alex and Annelise) of Calgary; Jane Youngberg (David Miller); and Jules and Anton Youngberg of Kelowna. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law Pat Youngberg; Joanne and Tom of Vermilion; and Aunt Florence Shervin of Camrose. He leaves to remember him his nephews Darrell Rosland of Camrose, George Matheson of Violet Grove and Ron Matheson of Medicine Hat. Isabelle Cire has been a constant and faithful companion for many years and of late has been a very supportive caregiver in his periods of ill health. Her attentiveness has been very much appreciated by Allan and his family. He was happy to feel part of Isabelle's family. Allan leaves a circle of friends that will miss him and his quick retorts. He will always be remembered and missed by his family. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Harder officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S., the Hospice Society of Camrose & District, or Parkland Lutheran Church and Cemetery.
