Donald Hartley Brittain of Camrose passed away after a brief battle with illness, on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the age of 65 years. Don, the oldest son of Hartley and Evelyn Brittain, was born March 13, 1948 in Bienfait, Saskatchewan. In 1967 Don married his Grandview, Manitoba, high school sweetheart, Clara Wilene Harris, a lifetime commitment of 46 plus years. After marriage they made the trek to Fort McMurray where he raised a family and worked in the oil sands until his retirement in 2005. A man of unshakeable faith in his saviour Jesus Christ; with a strong Love for his family and a passion for music. Don is survived by his wife Wilene and children Murray (Christine) of Ft. McMurray, Gary of Yellowknife, Preston (Nicola) of Ft. McMurray, and Jason (Nima) of Camrose; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Don is also survived by two sisters Vivian (Neil), and Mildred (Randy); nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his younger brother Terry and nephew Myron. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Calvary Penecostal Church (4820 64 Street,Camrose) with Pastor Lewis Smith officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice. "For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's." Roman 14:8.
