Robert Harold Moland of Camrose, formerly of Ferry Point, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the age of 73 years. Harold was born at St. Mary's Hospital on July 20, 1939 and was raised in Ferry Point (Meeting Creek). He worked in Grande Prairie as a mechanic where he met his wife Lucille. Harold became a radio announcer and moved to Camrose in 1968. He took early retirement in 1994 and started his own business doing deliveries and working for the Sun and the Journal until retiring when his wife became ill in 2006. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader with a love of aviation and country music. As an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 37 years he helped many people attain sobriety and was always willing to assist anyone in need. He had many friends and will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. Left to cherish his memory are his son Terry Moland of Camrose; sister Margaret (James) Galusha; sister-in-law Walda; and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his wife Lucille; one brother Arne; and both parents. A Funeral Service was held 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2013 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev Alan Richards officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Ferry Point Cemetery at a later date. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
