Amy Clara Anderson of Camrose passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at the age of 96 years. Amy Clara Anderson, the youngest of four girls, was born in Rosalind, Alberta on February 3, 1917 to Walter and Elizabeth Roberts. Amy took her schooling in Rosalind area until almost grade 11. She lived around Rosalind for most of her life working for farmers, looking after children, cooking, cleaning, milking cows, gardening and many more tasks which became very helpful in making her such a wonderful Mother later on in her life. Amy was always busy, she was very active in church in her younger years. She enjoyed family functions such as weddings and holidays events. On March 21, 1935 Amy married Murray Anderson which took place in Bawlf, Alberta. They resided in the Kelsey area and farmed until 1958. During which time she had five children Beulah, Dwayne, Belva, Gloria and Jim. After moving to Amisk, Murray then worked for the Alberta Wheat Pool till. At this time Amy was able to enjoy many close friends, crocheting, canning, discing and playing cards. In 1980 Camrose, Alberta became home after her and Murray's retirement. After the passing of her husband she moved to Stony Creek Lodge due to failing health then to Louise Jenson long term care. Amy had a smile that would brighten a room, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother. She cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Amy passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the age of 96. She will be sadly missed by her two sons Dwayne (Stacey) Anderson and Jim (Marion) Anderson; along with her two daughters Belva (Ken) Kendrick and Gloria Johns; sister Mena; and many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Amy was predeceased by her parents Walter and Elizabeth; husband Murray; daughter Beulah; and sisters Violet and Florence. A Funeral Service was held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 from Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, S.T.A.R.S., or to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation.
