Obituary of Victor Laskosky

On March 7th, 2011, Victor Laskosky, husband, father, grandfather, friend and teacher passed away from cancer at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anne and his children: Suzanne Laskosky (Alaine) of St. -Jean-sur-Richeleau, Quebec, Jane Stanyer (Ron) of Whitehorse, Yukon; Carol Koran (Lee) of Lethbridge, Bryan Laskosky (Cindy) of Camrose; and Beth Vesely (Radim) of Calgary; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister Rose of Edmonton, brothers Joseph of Texas and Andrew of Ontario. Victor was predeceased by his parents, William and Annie Laskoski and his siblings: Sophie, Emil, Raymond, and an infant brother. Victor began his teaching career in 1943. He taught in various locations around Alberta, settling in Camrose in 1964 and retired in 1980. After his retirement he worked at Sid's Sports Shop and spent his free time golfing, gardening and cheering for his grandchildren at their many sporting events. A Prayer Vigil was held on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church (5010 48 A Ave, Camrose). Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Hospital Chapel Fund, Camrose.
