Nova was born on November 25, 1955 to Wilfred and Beatrice Devitt in Hardisty, Alberta.
Nova was the youngest of seven children. She loved life and always did whatever she could to lend a helping hand.
When she was a young girl her and her family moved to Wainwright Alberta where she would grow up, but she would always return to Hardisty to help look after her nieces and nephews.
Later Nova raised three children of her own, and had the pleasure of becoming a grandmother nine times. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and it would bring much joy every moment that she would spend with them.
Left to cherish her memory are Nova's children Ruby (John) Venema, Marion (Scott) O'Neil, and Douglas (Melissa) Ferguson; grandchildren Nicole, Amber, Jaden, James, Katy, Liam, Hannah, Asher, and Davyn; sisters Gerry, Kathy (Ray), and Connie (Vic); brothers Dennis (Pat), and Dwayne; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Nova was predeceased by her husband Ron; mother and father; sister Sonja; nephew Leslie; and bother-in-law Claire.
A funeral service was held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from The Church of Nazarene Sedgewick, AB with Rev. Nolan Haring officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
