Obituary of Eldon Nordin

Eldon Halvor Nordin of Hay Lakes, Alberta passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the age of 70 years. Eldon Halvor Nordin was born Sept 28, 1942 to Jennie & Lennart Nordin in Edmonton, Alberta. He grew up on the family farm at Hay Lakes and attended school at Sulitjelma and Hay Lakes. After High School, Eldon went to Devry Institute in Toronto and then returned to Edmonton and worked at CN Rail, Ackland, Gasarc Repair and Arrow Welding. In June of 1966, Eldon moved home to the farm and continued commuting to Edmonton to work in all kinds of weather. On November 4, 1967 Eldon married Margaret Baker and to this union they were blessed with three sons. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years Margaret; children Cory (Kim) of Hay Lakes, Shane (Lainie) of Sherwood Park and Sterling (Melissa) of Hay Lakes; four grandsons; four granddaughters; one brother Lance (Marge) of Lethbrigde; two sisters Joanne Long of St. Albert and Annette (Jan) Nowakowski of Camrose. Eldon was predeceased by his parents Jennie and Lennart. A Funeral Service was held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013 from Messiah Lutheran Church (4810 50 St Camrose, Alberta) with Rev. Bill Harder officiating. Interment took place in St. Joseph's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hay Lakes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to St. Joseph's Cemetery Fund, The Kidney Foundation, or to the charity of one's choice.
