Pauline Komperdo was born on May 3, 1923 to parents Mary and Steve Tury. She passed away on September 1, 2012 at the age of 89 years. Pauline married Fred Komperdo in Bellevue, Alberta and together they raised 3 children. Fred and Pauline owned and operated several businesses, including coal mines in Hiesler and Mercoal, and the theatre in Barrhead, Alberta. Pauline was a very genuine and loving person. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed cooking traditional meals for her family and friends. After the death of her husband, Fred, Pauline spent much of her time with her children and grandchildren, and played an active part in their lives through her many visits. Pauline's adventurous spirit lead her to travel throughout North America as well as back to Czechoslovakia to visit her extended family. Pauline is survived by her brother Steve, her three children, Ed (Arlene) of St. Albert, Mary Anne (Michael)Warren of Lethbridge, and Loren (Arlene), of Calgary, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Fred, and her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday September 5, 2012 at 11:00am from Our Lady of the Prairies Roman Catholic Church in Daysland,with Father Leon Kler as Celebrant. Interment followed in the Daysland Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the charity of one's choice.
