Obituary of Garry Reid

Garry Edwin Reid of Camrose, Alberta passed away peacefully with Bonnie, his beloved wife of 36 years, by his side. Also left to cherish his memory are his step father Jim Moffatt; brothers Don (Laura) Reid of Virden, Manitoba and Bob (Sharon) Reid of Red Deer, Alberta; sister Katherine Bonk of Brandon, Manitoba; two nephews Kent (Rochelle) Reid, David (Lane) Bonk; five nieces Lisa (Conrad) Hoy, Lesya (Malcom) Oldcorn, Jessica Reid (Ben Mercer),Kalee (Court) Lang, and Julie Bonk; two great-nephews; and six great-nieces. Garry was predeceased by his parents Arthur Reid and Emily Reid Moffatt. Garry was raised and educated in Virden, Manitoba and also attended the University of Brandon and the University of Winnipeg. After graduation, he worked for Avco Financial Services and Superior Acceptance from 1971 until his retirement in 1996. Garry's career in the finance industry took him from Winnipeg to Regina, London, Saskatoon, Edmonton, and then back to Winnipeg. Throughout their marriage and especially after retirement Garry and his wife continued to enjoy travelling and golf and spent many of their winters in Arizona or California. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 20, 2012 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel in Camrose with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Cremation has taken place. If family and friends so desire memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice are gratefully accepted.
