Leander Peter Martz of Forestburg, formerly of Heisler, passed away Tuesday July 17, 2012 at the age of 86 years.
Left to remember him fondly is his wife Maryanna Martz; children Gordon (Joanne) Martz of Camrose, Donna (Ron) Dronyk of Torrington, Susan (John) Postma of Kitimat, BC, Randy (Cyndie) Martz of Forestburg, Wayne (Toni) Martz of Forestburg, Joe (Patricia) Martz of Heisler, Linda (Alvin) Nahajowich of Daysland, James (Shauna) Martz of Heisler; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers Gilbert (Alma) Martz and Norman (Lorraine) Martz; sisters Theresa (Melvin) Kuefler, Florence Sommer and Angela Hihn.
Leander was predeceased by one son-in-law Lloyd Badry; grandson Tyler; brothers Melvin and Ralph; and one sister Linda Blumhagen.
A Prayer Service was held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 7:30 pm., from St. Martins Roman Catholic Church in Heisler. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 from St. Martins Roman Catholic Church in Heisler, Alberta with Rev. Leon Kler as celebrant.
If family and friends desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or to the Daysland Health Centre.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Leander
