Jim passed away on July 11, 2012 at the age of 63. He was born December 3, 1948 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Minnie and Mike Belbos. From the age of two he was raised by his grandparents on a farm a few miles southeast of Cadillac, Saskatchewan. In his late teens to early twenties he obtained his license in mechanics while working at St. Jacques' Garage. Later he worked for highway construction as a buggy operator and then the Cadillac Co-Op as a licensed mechanic. In 1972 he married Marguerite Desharnais and moved to Edmonton. While working at Neil's Trailer Shop he obtained his first class welding license. When Neil's Trailer Shop closed he went to work for Byers Transport until his early retirement in 2004 at which time Jim and Marguerite sold their house and became full-time RVers enjoying the freedom of traveling south in the winter and fishing and camping at Lesser Slave Lake in the summer. Jim was predeceased by his grandparents James and Dolina Gair; his mother Minnie Foley; and his father Mike Belbos. He will be sadly missed by his wife Marguerite; his children Michael and Laura; his many friends; and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2012 from Our Lady of the Prairies Roman Catholic Church Daysland with Rev. Leon Kler as celebrant. Interment took place in the Daysland Cemetery. Donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
