Obituary of Margaret Loesch

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marg Loesch of Daysland, Alberta passed away on Wednesday June 6, 2012 at the age of 83. She was born on April 29, 1929. She was a devoted caring wife, loving mother and nana. Marg grew up and spent her early years helping her parents on their farm at Daysland while attending and graduating from Daysland School. Marg went to normal school on Vancouver Island, B.C. and obtained her diploma in education. Marg taught school for seven years on the island and eight years in Alberta. She often said dealing with her one room class of varied ages was challenging. On July 13, 1953 Marg married her best friend and soul mate Kenneth Loesch. In 1961 they welcomed a very special man, Clem Hebert, into their home for three years while he completed his high school. Today Clem is a retired school teacher. That same year, they welcomed their chosen son Mark into their family. Mark married Bonnie in November 2003 and they have three children Braeden, Seirra and Erik. In 1963 they welcomed their second son Bradley. Brad married Sherry in October 1988 and they have three children Jasmine, Paris, and Corbin. Marg and Ken found their purpose and passion in mixed farming, raising beef cattle, growing crops, and operating dairy for 36 years. In 1989 Marg and Ken retired to their new home in Daysland. Their son Brad and Sherry continued working the family farm. Marg's favorite past time was being surrounded by those she loved. Because of her love for cooking and baking she always had company and loved nothing more than entertaining. She loved to play cards, especially 500 smear and cribbage. If she found herself falling behind, she often teased her opponents by calling them "donkeys". Marg loved to bowl weekly on a ladies team as well as a mixed team with Ken and their closest friends. Some may remember her fondness for her house cat Tiggy, we can't say Ken felt quite the same! The Daysland Drop in Center became a special and fun place to go play cards and meet up with her friends. Marg was a dedicated Royal Purple and CWL member for many years. In January 2011 Marg moved into Providence Place where she enjoyed cards, floor curling, visiting and having friends over for her famous lemon and flapper pie. She never really got to enjoy all Providence Place had to offer because her health began to deteriorate. Marg faced the challenge of living with cancer with courage, hope, strength and unwavering faith. We always said she was small but feisty. We remember her with her beautiful smile, outgoing personality and her zest for life. We cherish every moment she shared in our lives. Marg was predeceased by her husband Ken; parents Fred and Eva Krausert; sister Joan; and brother Bruce. Marg is survived by her two sons Mark (Bonnie) of Grand Prairie and their children, Brad (Sherry) of Daysland and their children; and her four sisters Kay, Jean, Betty and Patricia(Lloyd Hagen). Marg will be loved and remembered by her family, many relatives and friends. We are grateful for your expressions of support. If you so desire, memorial contributions are graciously accepted to Providence Place, Daysland and District Handivan, or Daysland Ag Society. A mass of the resurrection was celebrated 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at Our Lady of the Prairies Roman Catholic Church in Daysland, Alberta with Rev. Len Gartner as celebrant.
