Obituary of Donald Schneider

Beloved husdband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully at the Daysland Hospital on April 29, 2012 with his family at his side. Donald was born December 30, 1935 to his parents John and Susanne Schneider. Donald was raised in the Spring Lake District and attended St. Leo School. Upon finishing he left the farm for a short while to enter the work force where he learned many skills, then returned home to help his father on the farm as this was his true passion. He married Mary "Molly" Conlon on August 15, 1959. They raised four children on their family farm. Donald lived on the farm up until three months ago when he and mom moved into Providence Place Daysland due to health issues. The Suite they moved into had a great view of some of his land that he could always watch over from his easychair. Dad was still able to go on his daily drives, right up until a few days before his passing, to view the town and countryside that he loved. Farming and family was Donald's pride and joy. He leaves to mourn his wife Mary; his daughter Cathy (Willy) Lorentz of Airdrie, son George of Daysland, and son Brent (MaryAnn) of Daysland; grandchildren Dawn, Hayden, Breann, Matthew, and J'lyn; great-grandsons Cole and Cory. He is also survived by three brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Donald was predeceased by both parents, three brothers in-law, one sister in-law, one brother Leander and one son Bruno. Funeral services for Donald were held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 11:00am from Our Lady of the Prairies Catholic Church, Daysland AB. Interment followed in the Spring Lake cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, The Lung Association and the Spring Lake Cemetery fund.
