Obituary of Robert Heisler

Mr. Robert Heisler passed away peacefully in the midst of his loving family on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the age of 82. Robert was born in Heisler, Alberta on June 4 1928 to Henry and Mary Heisler, the second of the family of four and lived in Heisler for most of his life. Bobbie trucked for many years until he started work at Paintearth Mine where he worked until his retirement. He was the consummate handyman and there was little that he and his brother Romie could not fix or invent a solution for. He will be remembered for his antics and quick witted sense of humor. He had a great love for all people but a special place in his heart and twinkle in his eye for his family. He was predeceased by his father in 1961, his mother in 1983, his brother Ronnie in 1997 and his brother Romie in 1998. Left to cherish his memory are: son Owen (Bev) Heisler and daughters Cindy Heisler and Tamie (Doug) Schafer all from Edmonton; grand-daughter Sandra (Ben) Heisler of Banbury, England; grand-son Christopher (Nicola) Heisler of Calgary; Betty Heisler; sister Anna Marie Belke of Camrose; Shirley Heisler; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of relatives and friends. A prayer vigil was held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel in Camrose. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010 from St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church in Heisler, Alberta. Interment followed in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
