Paul (Skip) Hayden, beloved husband of Norma, passed away at home in Camrose on July 13th, 2010 at the age of 71. Skip was born April 4, 1939 in Vancouver BC. He was a member of the R.C.M.P. from 1958 to 1963. On April 8th, 1961 he married Norma Wells in New Norway. Skip and Norma spent many years exploring new places and adventures in B.C., San Diego, Mexico and Hawaii. In 1980, they settled in Camrose where he became the Director of the new Aquatic Centre. Skip enjoyed every day of his 24 years at the pool until his retirement. He was an inspiration for many cadets of the 644 R.C.A.C Squadron during his years of service from 1981 to 2004. Skip was an active member for many years of the Royal Life Savings Society and was always willing to help out. He was well respected in the aquatics field. Skip is a Hon. Life member of Alberta Association of Recreational Facility Personnel, he had 30 years of continuous membership. Travelling, camping, slo-pitch, sailing, scuba diving and golfing were things Skip enjoyed doing. He was known for his healthy lifestyle which included jogging for forty years. Skip was a honest and dedicated individual. He loved visiting with family and friends. Skip was pre-deceased by his parents Arthur and Hilda Hayden. He is survived by his wife Norma, brothers Art (Yvonne) and Rick (Lita), nieces Cindy and Michelle and nephews Art and Spencer. He will be missed by his family and many friends. As per request, no formal funeral service will be held. Inurnment will take place in the New Norway Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the A.L.S. Society.
